Gianfranco Facco’s solo exhibition at the Rocca Sanvitale Museum in Fontanellato, part of the Castelli del Ducato circuit, is confirmed from October 31 to November 29, 2020. The exhibition will be held every Saturday and Sunday as part of the official promotion of Peace and Love Italian Selection for Expo 2021 Dubai – Abu Dhabi, an official event of the Universal Exposition.
The exhibition’s commissioner is Giammarco Puntelli, author for Giorgio Mondadori in two editorial series and a member of the scientific committee for the Catalogo dell’Arte Moderna: Gli artisti italiani dal primo Novecento ad oggi by Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori.
Museum Director Pier Luca Bertè announced:
“Despite the challenging situation caused by the pandemic and restrictions on castle access due to regulations, the Rocca Sanvitale Museum team is committed to hosting Facco’s solo exhibition, tied to Expo 2021, as a testament to the importance of art and culture. While there will be no inaugurations, tourists will encounter new contemporary art content as part of their tour of the Rocca over four weeks.”
The exhibition will be open to visitors from October 31 to November 29 during the following hours: Saturdays and Sundays as part of the Castle tour (reservation required: rocca@fontanellato.org – tickets available on Vivaticket).
On Saturday, November 7 at 4 PM, a guided tour is scheduled with the Mayor of Fontanellato, Francesco Trivelloni, the director of the Rocca Sanvitale Museum, Pier Luca Bertè, and his close collaborators, along with the commissioner Giammarco Puntelli, in compliance with current regulations. Puntelli has been the artistic director of international events, including the official exhibition at Expo 2015 in Piazza Duomo, Milan, and the contemporary art event of the Holy Year of Mercy at the Basilica of Saints Quattro Coronati in Rome.
“Pace e Amore” is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Italian Embassy in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, the Turkish Yunus Emre Cultural Center, the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy and the Italian Episcopal Conference.
Gianfranco Facco’s solo exhibition is the first of four solo exhibitions planned at Rocca Sanvitale, contingent on health regulations. This initiative is part of Expo’s promotional activities across cities like Rome, Siena, Ventimiglia, and Massa. The Rocca Sanvitale is renowned for the Saletta di Diana e Atteone, frescoed by Parmigianino.
Facco, whose style transitions from symbolic expressionism to naïve primitivism, is recognized in art circles, including the Catalogo dell’Arte Moderna by Giorgio Mondadori. His works have been critiqued and presented by faculty from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
Facco’s career began in the Veneto region’s Palladian Villas and expanded to exhibitions across Milan and Berlin. His works have been featured in over ten national and international publications, many under Giorgio Mondadori.
Facco has also been selected for the official event at Expo 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
